Violet Evergarden is a Japanese light novel-series written by Kana Akatsuki and illustrated by Akiko Takase. Moreover, it won the grand prize in the fifth Kyoto Animation Award’s novel category in 2014. Kyoto Animation published the first light novel on December 25, 2015, under their KA Esuma Bunko imprint. This anime made tons of fans at it’s release which is quite amazing. And now some news about this anime was revealed which put smile on the faces of the fans.
On the official Twitter account for the Violet Evergarden anime, they have confirmed on Thursday that a new work has been started on Violet Evergarden. Also, the announcement lists the project as a “completely new” work for the anime. On March 23, the wraparound jacket band for the Violet Evergarden Gaiden (side story) novel revealed that “new project” is in progress for the franchise.
Author Kana Akatsuki and illustrator Akiko Takase’s Violet Evergarden novel won the grand prize in the fifth Kyoto Animation Award program’s novel category. This marked the first time any work won a grand prize in any of the contest’s three categories in history.
KA Esuma Bunko published the novel series’ two volumes in Japan in December 2015 and also on December 2016. The Kyoto Animation’s television anime adaptation premiered on television in Japan on January 10 and launched on Netflix on January 11.
Moreover, on April 5, the anime will premiere in the United States.
