All the Three Great Dojutsu In Naruto Explained

Hey everyone! Today, we’re gonna discuss three great Dojutsu in Naruto, namely, the Byakugan, the Sharingan and the Rinnegan. There’s been a lot of confusion regarding all three and I hope I’ll clear it all up in this post. Let’s begin.

Let’s start with the great eye technique of the Hyūga and the Ōtsutsuki clan. These eyes were Inherited from Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, the progenitor of Chakra. When they are activated, the veins near the eyes pop out and the eyes become more intense. The Byakugan is possessed by a child ever since they’re born. It need not be activated like the Sharingan or the Rinnegan. A rare exception to this list is Himawari Uzumaki who had to activate the Byakugan. It is also mentioned in one of the Naruto Novels, that some may awaken the Byakugan only in one eye, if he/she has a more diluted bloodline.

The Byakugan has stayed in the leaf for generations and no other village possesses it except Kirigakure’s Ao who took it from a Hyūga after a battle. The people from the Hyūga clan are wary of their eyes falling into others hands, so the main family had placed a seal on the branch family, which destroys the Byakugan once the possessor dies.
