Recently Crunchyroll streamed a promotional video for the anime Food Wars Shokugeki no Soma: The Fourth Plate (Shokugeki no Sōma: Shin no Sara). This will be the fourth season for the anime which is based of off Yūto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki’s manga. The video that was shown is an English-subtitled version of the anime’s teaser video that debuted in June.
The premiering date of the anime has been announced which is that it will premiere on both Tokyo MX and BS11 in Japan on 11 October at 24:30. Moreover, Crunchyroll will begin streaming the series on 11 October. The animation team as also been revealed which possesses Yoshitomo Yonetani returning to the role of directing the anime at J.C. Staff.
Shogo Yasukawa is returning to oversee the series scripts, and Tomoyuki Shitaya is returning as a character designer. Furthermore, nano.RIPE will be performing the new show’s ending theme song “Emblem.”
The manga of this anime was so popular that it inspired three television anime series. The first season has a total of 24 episodes it started in April and ended on September 2015. The second season of Food Wars!: The Second Plate aired for 13-episodes starting in July.
Last but not least the third one, Food Wars! The Third Plate premiered on October 2017, and the second half of the third season premiered on April 2018. The streaming service, Crunchyroll have streamed all the three-season and Sentai Filmworks has licensed all three season.
The manga first begins in 2012 of the Weekly Shonen Jump, chef Yuki Morisaki is credited for cooperation for the manga. Viz released the manga on their app as well as on their website in English dub. The manga has unfortunately ended in June Shueisha’s Jump Giga magazine published the third chapter in a three-chapter Shokugeki no Sōma: Le dessert epilogue manga in September.
